HANKOOK PRESENTS ITS FIRST ISCC-CERTIFIED TIRE

South Korean tire manufacturer Hankook has just launched its first ISCC PLUS (International Sustainability & Carbon Certification) certified tire, the iON evo, made from 45 % sustainable raw materials. The tire will initially be offered as original equipment on the all-electric Porsche Taycan, in sizes 245/40 R21Y XL (FA) and 285/35 R21Y XL (FA).

In the case of the iON evo tire, Hankook specifies that it is composed of biosourced silica from cereal residues, recycled PET textile cords from waste plastics, biocircular synthetic rubber from biocircular raw materials, recycled carbon black from used tires and natural resins. For the electric vehicle driver, this iOn tire means greater autonomy per battery charge, enhanced safety and real driving comfort.
